Bru na Mara is a beautiful complex just outside Carna that combines traditional design with modern comfort. The site overlooks a small harbour, and has spectacular views of the sea, the historic Mason and St MacDara's islands, and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Situated in the south west corner of Connemara, the complex is an ideal location for touring and exploring Connemara and South Mayo.

Carna, which is situated in the Gaeltacht (Irish speaking region) is an important centre for Traditional singing, music, and dancing, with weekly sessions in neighbouring Kilkieran. There are a host of activities within easy reach, including a number of spectacular, unspoiled white sand beaches at Moyrus, (1.5 km) Mynish (7 km) and Callowfinish (8 km). The area is also ideal for walking or cycling, with little traffic, stunning views, and the cleanest air in Europe.

Bru Na Mara is a 3-star,fully furnished, two bedroomed cottage. Set right at the sea's edge with a turf burning stove, it combines cosiness, with an unrivalled view of the historic St MacDara's Island and Mace Harbour. This cottage is suited for family holidays and touring groups, and is the ideal base for exploring and enjoying South and West Connemara, with its panoramic views of coastline, islands, inlets, hills and mountains.

The spectacular surroundings, rich in both flora and fauna are also ideal for fishing and birdwatching. The beautiful unspoiled white sand beaches at Moyrus and Mynish are also extremely popular with children. The house is the ideal base for a comfortable, restful and relaxing holiday, with so much outdoor activity on your doorstep.
